NaBloPoMo - Day 28

Good morning, friends. I hope everyone had a good day yesterday, and I hope you have a long weekend to rest and recover from the festivities.

I had a really nice day. I watched the parade in the morning while messaging back and forth with my kids. We decided to get together over the weekend instead of everyone coming over at random times.

I could hardly wait until a decent time to eat. I made little Thanksgiving sandwiches - turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce on dinner rolls, with a little gravy on the side for dipping. It wasn't a big Thanksgiving meal, but it sure hit the holiday spot.

A cold front came through in the afternoon. Perfect timing to kick off the Christmas season. I put up my little Christmas tree, wrapped some presents, watched some football, and then had a little movie marathon in the evening. It was a nice, relaxing Thanksgiving Day.

Fast forward to today. I have an unexpected surprise, I will be watching my baby girls after all. They are already on the way. At least I got one good day of rest in.

I have to run, they will be here soon. Have a great day. :)

  1. Good morning and Happy Belated Thanksgiving. Sorry I've been MIA this week, but I will go back and catch up on your other posts. Long story short had to put mom in hospital on Monday and the rest of the week was history.

  5. We are being bombarded with snow, which stresses me out. We have an event to attend tomorrow and my son and his family leave to go back home to Chicago on Sunday. UGH!

  12. I hope you enjoy time with your girls. I guess it makes sense for you to welcome a cold front, since you're in Florida. Here, I cringe at the thought of a cold front - but it's already cold. so, blah.

    1. Thanks, Ernie. Yes, a cold front here just means the AC won't be running, nothing like what you have to deal with!

  13. Enjoy your time with the granddaughters! My sister-in-law makes eggrolls with the leftover turkey, stuffing, cranberry, potatoes and dips them in gravy. Delicious! I'm starting to decorate for Xmas too!

  16. Yes, we are enjoying that little cold front here too. It really made it nice for yesterday to be walking around outside and enjoying the fresh air. Today has been a bit nippy and windy, however. At least it didn't freeze, for which I am thankful, because I was too tired to cover my plants last night. I hope you had fun with your little ones today, and I know you will have a lovely rest of your weekend with your family. Your yesterday sounds very relaxing. Happy Thanksgiving and upcoming Christmas/Advent season!

    1. Thanks, Pam. I like it just cool enough that we don't have to run the AC. Anything colder than that is too cold for me, lol!

  21. I think today is the day I put up my tree. I have to tie it off three ways, to keep the cats from knocking it over.
