I had my two little tornadoes yesterday. It was a very busy but fun day as always. Of course, I'm way behind on reading your blogs now. Today and tomorrow are quite busy as well, but I'll get all caught up with all of you by the weekend.
Today, for those of you who have little ones, I want to share one of the best ideas I think I've ever had.
When my girls arrive in the morning, the first thing they ask is if they get to have their special sharing plate. It's adorable how excited they get about it. I always use it for their breakfast, and of course, I try to plan as many of their meals and snacks using the special sharing plate as I can.
I also have a high cabinet where I keep any kids' cereals and any other less than healthy foods, so what's on their plate is all that's available. They always raid my pantry between meals, and there's nothing in there they can't spot, somehow, no matter how well I think I have it hidden.
It makes me feel like a pretty smart Gamma coming up with this one. Good idea, don't you think?

That is a great idea for sure! The kids always loved it when I put their food on plates that were divided. This is way better than that!
ReplyDeleteI remember those little divided plate too. I think they still make them for little ones.
DeleteExcellent idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne, the girls just love it. :)
DeleteGreat and fun idea. Makes me hungry seeing the variety.
ReplyDeleteRight? Before my husband passed away I would often make what I called grazing boards for us for dinner, especially during the summer when it's just too hot here for a hot meal. It was basically the same idea but for adults. :)
DeleteVery clever!
ReplyDeleteThanks CJ. :)
DeleteThat looks like so much fun, even for adults! LOL! My daughter makes her kids' lunches in Bento Boxes and I've always thought those were really neat. These are things I wouldn't have been able to find when my kids were little.
ReplyDeleteI agree Bijoux. I've always loved those little Bento boxes too. Some people get so creative with them!
DeleteWhat an excellent idea! My older daughter does a raw veggie platter (with ranch dip) for her boys, which they love. It's fun to make choices. I sometimes wonder if the veggies aren't just a vehicle for the ranch though!
ReplyDeleteI often use the plate for veggies and little crackers and stuff with ranch in the middle for the girls snack time. I assure you, the veggies are most definitely just the vehicle for the ranch, lol. Hey, as long as we're getting them to eat veggies it works for me!
DeleteWonderful idea on so many levels!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marie. :)
DeleteYes, VERY clever of you! I bet this idea will go far!
ReplyDeleteI suppose I should have tried to get the rights on something almost exactly the same but marketed as a Kids Special Sharing Plate. Now I'll be mad when someone else does it instead, lol!
DeleteAwesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lori. :)
DeleteI think you're pretty smart too! I will have to steal this idea! :)
ReplyDeleteFeel free Mari, the kids love it!
DeleteYes, that's a very good idea and wise too!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great idea, so clever!
ReplyDeleteThat’s perfect for that age! And I love that they have ‘healthy’ and ‘treat’ items together, so they can just think of it all as food and not be phobic about it.
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic idea, Martha! I know I could have used something like that when my granddaughters were young.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! And it teaches them to share!
