NaBloPoMo - Day 17

Good morning, friends. It's a new week and time for my Monday Daybook. If you'd like to join me today, or in the future, I've put a list of the prompts in the bar at the top of my blog for you to copy and paste to make things a little easier.

Outside my window... It's a beautiful day, blue skies and sunshine, currently 76 degrees with a high of 80 today.

My weekend... Uneventful, just the way I like it. I kept busy at home catching up on blogs, doing a little cleaning and decluttering, and I packed up a few more boxes to drop off for donation this week. I spent a lot of time on phone calls and texts trying to come up with a plan for Thanksgiving. Holidays are harder to plan these days with the kids' in-laws' plans to consider.

This morning... I just got back from the grocery store. I'm taking a short break for blogs and brunch, and then off to get started on my other errands.

I am wearing... A tunic top with capri leggings, or jeggings, actually, if that's still what they are called.

I am listening to... Silence at the moment.

I am thinking... About how much I have to do today. I really need to get moving.

I am feeling... A little cranky about how much I have to do, and also annoyed with how long it's taking Blogger's feed reader to update. If it's anything like yesterday, you won't be seeing this until this afternoon.

I am reading... Just blogs for now, and I'm so happy about that!

I am cooking... I'm going make some scrambled eggs and maybe even sneak in a slice or two of bacon with some whole grain toast for brunch. I think I might just grab some takeout for dinner somewhere while I'm out and about, since it's going to be a busy day. I know I won't feel like cooking by the time I get home.

I am watching... Last night I watched Everybody's Fine, a 2009 movie with Robert De Niro on Netflix. It was a very good movie, but sad too. Mostly, I've just been going back and forth, turning things on and off, trying to find something worthy of watching lately - help!

I am going... Out and I don't like it, lol. I have a long to-do list and I'd rather be at home. I'm such a homebody.

This week... Obviously, a busy day of errands today. My son asked me last night if I could watch the girls on Tuesday instead of Thursday this week. Not really a big deal, but now I have to prepare for that along with all the other things I have to accomplish today. The good news is that my calendar is empty for the rest of the week after that. That makes me very happy.

That's all from me for today. How's your week looking?

  1. I come here directly, not relying on the feed. I'll get a feed email later today for yesterday or the day before post!

    1. I've always used the Blogger feed reader. Sometimes it has a little delay, but it's usually pretty dependable.

  2. Good morning! Sounds like a busy day, but like you said the end of the week will be yours to create whatever you want once the errands and watching the girls tomorrow is done.

Compared to you, we're having our traditional start to winter with much cooler and wet weather here (50's for highs and 30's for lows). Oh and I looked it up - jeggings are still a thing :)

Personally, I LOVE doing my Monday post for a recap and it keeps me accountable to myself for what I need to do and even helps remind me what I've already accomplished. Have a WONDERFUL week and once again I am so happy to see you here in blogland again!

    1. I won't say good morning back since it's evening now, lol. It was definitely quite a busy day for me. I'm just trying to get everything done before we get into the holiday week. I love my jeggings, I have five pairs. I just didn't know if they still called them that or not. I'm not exactly a fashionista you know, lol. I love doing the Monday post like this or Homemaker Monday too, and I'm so glad to be back here doing it! I hope you have a great week too! :)

  3. Happy Monday. Your day sounds really busy. I'm such a homebody now that I really understand how you feel about having to go out. At least it's cooled down there, so you won't be sweating while out and about. Have a great day.

    1. Happy Monday Lori! It was a bit of a busy day, but just a ton of little errands I've been putting off, no appointments or anything important. Having it cooler out here is definitely a bonus when I have to be out and about like that. I hope you had a great day! :)

  5. We have to run some errands today, too, Martha, and being a homebody, I often hate being pulled in so many directions. Still, as you said, the rest of the week after Tuesday is free for you. Enjoy!

  7. When Blogger shut down their feed reader (I didn't realize they had one again now), I switched over to Feedly. That works just fine for me.

This week I have gigs scheduled for all but Tuesday. Hopefully something pops up for tomorrow soon. Enjoy your errands.

    1. I didn't even know they ever shut down their feed reader. I've been using it forever. It must have been during a period of time I wasn't blogging. Fingers crossed you have scored or will score a gig for tomorrow!

  8. Gray and rainy outside my window. I need to rake some leaves and go for a walk although I volunteered to help out my younger daughter with her newborn. I will baby hold while she takes a much-needed nap! Jeggings are jean leggings, I think? I have a couple pairs of them. :)

    1. How's that sweet baby doing? I hope you were able to squeeze in time for your walk. Yes, Jeggings are jean leggings, I pretty much live in them when I leave the house. I have at least seven pairs, lol.

  9. I've been out running errands today too and am just now starting to look at blogs.
I use Feedly to follow blogs and it works well for me.

  10. It's just us 3 here, hubby, cat and me but I go in circles every day it seems. 3 squares a day to plan and cook. Household chores and try for an hour to myself. You have all this going on and little ones to take care of often. Must make your head swim a bit. TV is just rotten. I get DVDs from the library and sometimes I make a bad pick. Hope you iron out Thanksgiving for your family. Good to spend quality time then.

    1. I know what you mean Lynn. It's only me now, other than the days I have the girls, and there still doesn't seem to be enough time in the days - and I don't even cook a lot since my husband passed away. I don't know where the time goes!

  11. Dear Martha, thank you so much for your posts, I always enjoy and appreciate them so much! I am glad I am not alone with the Blogger news feeder, my blog was scheduled to publish at 8 p.m. last night and it didn't actually publish in the feeder until almost midnight. Sometimes there has been a delay in the publishing in the feeder, but this time was the longest! The most time it took until now was perhaps an hour or so.
It published on my blog itself, but not in the feeder, so nobody really knew that my new post was up.
I think what Mari mentioned about Feedly is good. I think there is another option as well....Bloglovin'. Not sure how they work, but I may just try one of those options.
I hope that Google fixes the issues quickly!

    1. Thank you Linda, you are too kind. I had the same thing happen to me yesterday. I posted around 5pm and my post still wasn't showing up in the feed when I went to bed. I have no idea when it finally showed up. Luckily today it was just the usual little delay. We could use a different reader but that's not going to make our posts show up any quicker for those who still use the Blogger feed.

    2. You are absolutely right, everyone would have to use a different reader, and this would be ridiculous. Hopefully these issues will be fixed soon.

    3. I hope so too. I noticed the same thing happened on my Tuesday morning post. I posted around 6:40am and it didn't show up on the reader until close to 11. It's frustrating.

  12. Hope your errands went well. This week looks to be a little slower than last week, and I was finally able to have lunch with a friend that has been months in the making.

  13. I'm glad you plan to reward yourself with an easy meal to pick up from somewhere. Enjoy that treat. My week is exciting - basketball season starts tonight. Curly's first game of her senior year season. After she graduates, not sure what Coach and I will do with ourselves - the two younger girls won't play sports at this level. Curly plays Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday. I might drive to ND Sat afternoon to tailgate for Mini's last home football game. I enjoy seeing the other parents who will be in town for the game.

  16. I got my chores done this morning, took my daughter to work, and then went Christmas shopping. Tomorrow I babysit my granddaughter and Wednesday I am volunteering at a disability conference. My son and his wife and daughter arrive Saturday night for 8 days (from Chicago). We can’t wait to see them!

    1. Sounds like you had a busy day too, and we'll both be busy with the grands tomorrow. Wednesday I'll be recovering, lol, but I'm glad you'll have the energy to volunteer for such a worthy cause. It's so exciting that your son and his family are coming, and staying for a good amount of time too. I know you are thrilled and will have a great time. Enjoy every single moment! :)

  17. I've not yet seen that movie on Netflix though I do enjoy a good bittersweet story.

Have you seen the show After Life with Ricky G. in it? Makes me laugh and cry.

Right now I'm locked in on fun and silly Christmas movies.

    1. I definitely recommend it. I haven't seen After Life but thank you for the recommendation. I'll definitely look it up to see if I can stream it. Movies that make me laugh and cry are the best kind of movies!

    2. Me too! Cry laugh is my fave combo!!!!

    3. If it's one that makes you laugh so hard that you cry, all the better! But any movie that it done well enough to hit you right in the feels is a good movie. :)

    4. Those are good too. This one though, makes me cry, cry, and then laugh. It's a happy sad show to me. That said, I love a good belly cry laugh. Tim does that to me. He makes me laugh so hard my eyes can't take it. It's great.
