A to Z Reflection

It's time for our A to Z Reflection post. I have to say the A to Z Challenge was so enjoyable this year. I participated several times back in the early years of the challenge. I was still working full time and had a very hectic schedule back then. I always enjoyed it and always completed it, but the struggle was real, it left me worn out by the end of the month This year it was great. I had more time to put into it, and I was more well prepared. I can't wait to do it again next year!

I decided on my theme, Life in Florida, back in March. Before the challenge began, I selected the photos and topics I would use for each letter and then uploaded them to draft posts. I also set the date, time, and title for each just to make things a little easier and more organized. All I had to do once the challenge started was write the actual post each evening and schedule it to post early the next morning. It made the whole challenge feel stress free.

The very best part of the A to Z Challenge is making new blog friends. I have added several from the challenge to my regular blog list. There are others who I visited regularly during the challenge that I'd like to revisit over this next month or so to get a feel for what their blogs are like outside the challenge. Some may simply become yearly A to Z friends, which is great too. I tried to visit a few new blogs from the master list each day, but I didn't get close to visiting all of them. There's lots more visiting to be done during the A to Z Road Trip.

I'd like to thank everyone who followed along or stopped by during April for a visit, and of course I'd like to thank the entire A to Z team for all their hard work and dedication. It was another fun and successful year for the A to Z Challenge!

  1. I admire everyone who puts the effort into the A-Z - the organisers and the participants.
I delighted in reading more about your state. Some I knew, and some was an education and a treat. Thank you.

  2. Congrats on making it through. It is the visiting other blogs that seems to be hard, but that part is well worth it, because you can discover blogs you wouldn't know about otherwise.

  4. It was a lot of fun, wasn't it? I learned a lot of things about Florida I never knew, since I've only been once and that was decades and decades ago. Next year I need to print out the Master List and cross off where I've been, this time I clicked on way too many over and over that had already quit. Or, start at the top and work down.

    1. I had a lot of fun with it too! I started at the top and worked my way down but most of the time I only clicked on the ones that were either in the personal category or other categories I had interest in. I should have pushed myself a bit further in other categories, but maybe I'll get there on the road trip. :)

  8. I've never read any blogs focusing on the A to Z challenge. This was fun and it looks like hard work. No idea how you could've pulled that off when you were working full time. Happy you stumbled onto my blog.

    1. I'm surprised Ernie, so many participate. It was so hard when I was working full time and still had kids at home back then too. I'm not sure how I managed it back then! I'm glad I found your blog too, can't remember how I came by it but I do enjoy it. :)

  14. It was fun following along on your a-z journey. Part of the reason I don't do any kind of meme is because of all the extra time required to visit everyone else who's participating.

    1. A lot of people are too busy with their lives and their own posts to try to visit others participating, it's really no big deal. I would always visit back anyone who stopped by mine, but other than that I usually picked two or three a day off the list to visit.

    1. Thanks Lori! When I did it while working and with kids still at home it was hard, plus I always flew by the seat of my pants and never prepared anything in advance. I've read that some people start scheduling their posts months in advance and have them all done and ready to go once April comes along. Seems like that would take the fun out of it but whatever works I suppose.

My husband goes today for his vaccine, mine is tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

  26. Years ago I also participated in an A-Z meme which I enjoyed doing, but I think it was one letter a week. Sadly I don't have the time to blog daily, with work, painting furniture to sell, French lessons, etc, etc... Loved reading your weekly planning from the previous post as well as the photo of the beautiful Miami sunset.
