30 Day Challenges

I've still been working on my February deep cleaning and decluttering challenge. I'm almost finished! Even with the delays with the weather warming up and no AC in the house, it did cool down enough for a few days here and there in between to continue. Our AC was finally repaired yesterday, just in time, our weather will be back up in the 80s by tomorrow.

I'm trying to decided what I will choose for my March challenge. Is anyone else doing a challenge for March, know of any challenges happening on other blogs, or just have some great ideas? I only have a few days to decide!

I also want to mention what I've decided to do for my April challenge. It's going to be a fun one! I'll be participating in The A to Z Challenge. This challenge started in 2010. I participated every year back in the early days before I took my extended blogging break. It's a lot of fun, and it's a great opportunity to connect with hundreds of other bloggers. Check out What is Blogging from A to Z for more info. Who wants to join in the fun? Come on, do it!

  1. The weather here is about 100 deg. F and I just don't feel like doing anything. We can't sleep without the air-con.

    1. It's really hot there already, we probably have another month or so before it gets that hot here!

  2. Congratulations on completing your cleaning challenge! The A-Z challenge sounds fun. I may participate. Since I mainly blog about food, that could be interesting. Have a great day!!

    1. Thanks Lori. I'm not quite done but I should be able to finish up today. I've been thinking about themes for the A-Z and am considering food for mine too. I haven't decided yet. I sure hope you will join!

    1. Thanks Debra! You should do it with A-Z memes, you really find the good ones!

  4. March is just around the corner and hard to believe this month is almost over. I've still got 3 more rooms to finish here. The heat is still on here no a/c. But I'm thinking spring. I'm always up for a challenge so will be interested to see what you choose. Maybe it'll be something I can join with you on.

    1. I'm thinking about an outdoor challenge for March, but not 100% sure yet. I never know if we will have nice mild weather or if it will be sweltering hot here.

  5. Well done on the challenge. Also, it must be a relief to have the AC fixed. We rarely use ours. We open windows for the breeze to blow through.

    1. Thanks Marie. We have to use AC most of the year here in Florida, it just gets way too hot. Plus it's very humid here which makes it feel much hotter than it is.

  6. I'm still working on being healthier and hopefully losing some weight, but no other challenges for March. It will be a "normal" month. I realize normal is not normal these days.

    1. I am definitely still keeping up on that from my January challenge too Sam. I'm using each month to try to build good habits and taking them along with me as a new month starts. I'd like to still do something productive for March since I'll be doing a fun one for April.

  7. you could do for march what i do year round and in fact have done since 09.. the past year i have only taken photos off our property 3 times, at the village of the arts.
each day pick something in your house, take a photo and tell about it. some things have story attached. MAD snap! tell something about it. there is nothing in my house or yard that has not been shown on my blog. like a blog about nothing. i don't do memes, i do not want to meet new people, i like my small family. the more people that comment the more time i have to spend on the computer.

    1. That's a good one Sandra and I always enjoy your posts, but since my April Challenge will be geared towards photos and blogging I'd like to stick with something that will be more productive and make a difference in my habits for March.

    1. Thanks Belinda, me too! It gets so miserable here when it's hot. I haven't had to turn ours on yet, but looks like tomorrow will be the day.

  10. Yeah for AC repair! 80 F sounds almost too warm! I am still working on odd projects here and there and probably will continue through March! Just an idea for you...do you have all your old photos marked with date, place and who is in the photo? :)

    1. I actually though of just doing odd projects for March since I made a list of projects while I was deep cleaning and decluttering. Getting my photos organized and marked is a great one and something I've been wanting to do, but I think I'll save that one for one of the sweltering hot summer months when I stay indoors as much as possible.

  11. If I take part in the challenge it will collapse and I really can't write anymore ... Yeah, I know, I'm a weird person, but that's no different! Can't wait to read your blogs!

    1. Thanks Ella. I can relate to that. I've often needed to take a blogging break after doing challenges like the one in April, but of course when I participated in the past I was still working full time too. I'm hoping it won't wear me out this time.

  12. The A-Z challenge sounds like lots of fun, but I can't participate this year. Looking forward to finally seeing the grands over their spring break, and that will be the highlight of not just April, but the entire year so far.

  15. Well, you could use March to prep all your blogs for April... I didn't officially do A to Z last year, and I don't think I'll officially do it this year. Keeping up with the blog hop does me in, but keeping up with the letters of the day is no sweat.

    1. In the past I noticed only a few people from the challenge actually visit on a regular basis, so I don't worry about trying to keep up with all the players. I'm sure I'll stop to visit a few that are blogging in the same category, but nothing crazy. Do you think you'll play along unofficially this year?

    1. I just about wore myself out this month Ann, especially with the wedding in the middle of it and all the other issues that came up. I only have the master bath to do tomorrow and I'm done! I hope you'll do the A to Z challenge with me :)

  17. I did the A-Z Challenge a few years ago! It was fun but I think I'll pass this year! The February Photo A Day usually does me good on challenges for a while! glad you got you AC fixed! Being in Florida without AC is as bad as being in Michigan without heat!

    1. Is there someone who hosts the February Photo A Day or is it just something you do on your own? I'm always ready for a good challenge! Thanks on the AC, you are totally right about Florida without AC being like Michigan without heat. I'm so glad it's finally fixed, and right before a ten day heat wave *whew*

  19. I have been trying to keep with the 15 minutes a day to stitch/sewing room. Just so I am working with something related to sewing. I have missed two days so far. On the other side of that, every day that I have sewed have all been well over 15 minutes except maybe two.

I don't think I will do the A t0 Z challenge this year, but will keep it in mind another year.

    1. You've done a great job Rose. Maybe you should set an amount of time per week instead of 15 minutes a day since it looks like it would more than even out. There's still more than a month before the A to Z challenge starts, let me know if you change your mind :)

  20. I am doing the pantry challenge again only because I still have so much in our food storage. Unfortunately I am having to do the deep clean and declutter challenge in tandem with the pantry. After the lake move I am overwhelmed with stuff and it has to go somewhere___preferable somewhere else.

    1. I know exactly how you feel Anne. I will think about joining you. I'm almost finished deep cleaning and decluttering in the house, but I do still have my big storage area (most is still stuff from my parents estate) probably equivalent to your basement. I was also thinking about possibly doing the pantry challenge for this month. I stocked up on canned foods at the start of the pandemic and that's something I very rarely use. I either need to use it up or maybe just donate to a food bank. I have a great stock of meats in the freezer too.

I have so many different challenges I want/need to do, I just need to pick one already lol!

  21. Congrats on your February challenge. I am attempting to blog every day this month. I am not sure what I am up to next month but I like the idea of the A to Z challenge but it is too early to decide. Good luck in whatever you decide to do in March.

  24. I did my own sort of A to Z blogging challenge. It wasn't affiliated with anything. I just did a letter a week, the subject of each post starting with that letter. I don't like anything too restrictive. It was fun and challenging.

If the snow ever leaves us we can get more things taken care of. But we hear more snow tomorrow. Sigh...we live in snow country so I get it. Hoping your weekend is wonderufl and you get all those challenges accomplished. YAY for Martha! xo

    1. I really went at it hard and heavy, from morning until dinner six days a week. The decluttering wasn't that bad, it was the deep cleaning that wore me out. Looking forward to your photos if you decide to do that for March. Think about a photo A to Z for April if you don't get around to your March challenge :)
