That is an incredible picture! Looks like snow clouds! It was 32 here in North central Florida this morning...frost on the yard and ice in the bird bath! Yes, winter has arrived to Florida!
I was thinking that too Pamela - snow clouds meet Florida sunset. It didn't get quite as cold here as it was there. It was 40 when I got up early this morning. Still cold for us!
Wow, double WOW...what an amazing sky. Yes it's chilly here too. 39F. when I got up this morning. The sun does feel so good but the shade is still icy feeling. Sue
Thank you Sheri. I don't take many nature photos these days either, we have been pretty much staying in quarantine since March. I do always have my eye out for a pretty sky shot at least.
They are call mattumus clouds...I have seen them a couple of times:) I heard it was cold there...my husband just had a Zoom meeting and one gal was from Tampa...we were not very sympathetic:)
Someone else also mentioned what type of clouds they were, I'd never seen anything like it before. I can imagine you weren't sympathetic with our 40 degree nights and 60 degree days being cold to us lol. Remember though, we get our torture with the sweltering heat for 9-10 months out of the year.
They do! I guess that's what happens when snow clouds meet Florida sunset. I'm very thankful that we don't have snow, but it is 2020 so I wouldn't be surprised if we did get snow this year!
I'm always shocked when people know where Nokomis is, even people from Florida usually don't know lol. Illinois is a hug change for sure! Do you like it there?
What an incredible photo!

ReplyDeleteWe are practically neighbors, I'm about an hour north of you in the tiny little town of Nokomis. It's in between Venice and Sarasota.
