Weekly Menu Plan

I can't believe it's Thanksgiving week already! I've decided to just order some sandwich rings for Thanksgiving Day. My kids will be here, but we will be outside and still social distancing. Having a simple meal just makes things easier, especially since I don't have any outdoor tables.

I am still making our big traditional Thanksgiving dinner, but decided to do it today. We won't all be enjoying it together but none of us wanted to miss the regular Thanksgiving food. The kids will all come by later this evening to pick up a nice heaping plate of leftovers to take home to enjoy.

I think it's a good plan. It makes for an easy week as far as cooking goes, and a nice laid back, stress free Thanksgiving Day.

Sunday - Turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet potato casserole, deviled eggs, squash casserole, cranberry sauce, fresh baked rolls, and pumpkin pie for dessert.

Monday - Leftovers

Tuesday - Leftovers

Wednesday - Turkey Soup (freeze any leftover soup)

Thursday - Sandwich rings (turkey, roast beef, and Italian), Southern Potato Salad, and chocolate pecan pie for dessert.

Friday - Leftovers

Saturday - Quiche Lorraine

Enjoy your Thanksgiving week!  :)

    1. Thanks Marie! I am so thankful that all three of my children all live close by. I may not be able to hug them now, but at least I can still spend time with them from a safe distance.

  5. So where did you order your sandwich rings from they look gorgeous and delicious! Bob and I decided we're going to have Kentucky Fried Chicken for Thanksgiving. We're going to get one of the buckets that says today and tomorrow so we'll have leftovers. Your menu for Thanksgiving dinner is exactly what my mother always made and pretty close to what Bob and I have made. But not since 2006

    1. The sandwich rings are from Publix. They are only $15 and they are really good too! KFC sounds like a good sub in for Thanksgiving, especially since you hate to cook. My Thanksgiving menu is exactly the same as my mother always made too :)

    1. Thanks Nance! I'm always so happy to hear when people come up with a good solution for their own Thanksgiving this year. Watching the news and seeing so many crowded in airports and determined to have Thanksgiving as usual is so disturbing. We can finally see a teeny tiny light at the end of the tunnel. Why take such risks now?

    1. Thanks Myra! I'm looking forward to the whole week. I was even able to get all the kids to come over at the same time this evening. Even though they will be taking their food to go, it's another day this week for us all to spend a little time together.

    1. Thanks Debby, we really enjoyed it. I agree with you on the social distancing and masks, SO important! I can't believe all the crowded in airports I've seen on the news, seems so many are willing to take such high risks. It makes absolutely no sense to me.
