I'm Singing in the Rain

It's time for Tuesday 4, click here to play along.

1. What kind of weather pleases you the most?

My very favorite weather is sunny and in the 70's - perfection!

2. Do rainy days bother you or do you find them a time to relax and take it easy? Any puddle jumping in your life?

Rainy days don't bother me at all as long as I can be at home. I love just cuddling up on the couch with a good book on rainy days. I love falling asleep at night to the sound of the rain too. I can't remember the last time I went puddle jumping but it sure sounds like fun!

3. Do you have meals you enjoy in certain kinds of weather or certain seasons? Please share with us?

I eat seasonally so it's light or cool foods in the summer, but when we are going to have a good stormy day I love to make a nice pot of homemade soup. That's the one thing I really miss having regularly on the menu in the summertime. In the winter soups, stews, chili, and chowders are on the menu often along with other more traditional hot/heavy meals.

4.As the prophet Jeremiah tells us, It is a good idea to bloom where you are planted. How do you handle stormy weather and does a day need to be sunny for you to enjoy it? Why not give us hints on enjoying any kind of weather.

I don't mind being out in the rain. I would much rather be in the rain than in sweltering heat or freezing cold. I could never understand if I'm out somewhere and it starts to rain why everyone takes off running. We don't melt, it's not a zombie apocalypse, and besides that, feeling the rain on your face is cleansing, kind of like having a good cry. Now if there's lightning I'm going to run like hell with the rest of them lol. One thing I don't like in stormy weather is driving. It makes me a nervous wreck! Oh and I really do sing the song Singing in the Rain when I get caught out in the rain :)

That's all for this week, have a great day!

  1. 1. Cool weather pleases me most but I do love sunny days when I have washing to dry. 2. Rainy days don't bother me, I used to enjoy walking in the rain but now, I will just stay home and carry on with whatever can be done at home. 3. I love curries when the weather is cool and rice porridge when the weather is hot. 4. A little rain doesn't melt me. Rain means I need not have to water my plants. But I rather not have thunderstorms or sweltering heat. Enjoy your week and stay safe.

  2. LOLing at "zombie apocalypse." Rain feels good, but I run because if my curly hair gets wet it's going to turn into a giant frizz ball!

    1. Well, some people really do act like it's a zombie apocalypse when it starts raining LOL. I can relate to the hair thing but our humidity is always so high here in Florida I always have the giant frizz ball no matter what. I just have to go with it :)

    1. Thanks Christine and yes I agree, I think 70's weather is by far the best!

  4. I like a good thunderstorm if it doesn't cause damage. Here in the desert we have summer monsoons that are pretty good storms but can cause flooding. Sadly, we are lacking them this year for some reason! Happy Tuesday Martha!

  5. Sunshine is always preferred here but rainey days give us a reason to stay in and get the housework done. Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables are on my menu for the summer. I always like to think we can make our own sunshine, no matter what the weather. Sunny in Ohio today!

    1. I love the way you think Ma and have to remember that one! I can never bring myself to do housework on rainy days, I just go for lazy. Glad you have a nice sunny day - enjoy! :)

  6. I, too, am totally a seasonal eater, and can't wait to put on a big crock of stew or chili. When I living and working in Florida I despised driving in the rain, but now I'm retired? Bring it on!

    1. Eating seasonally is the best! I really miss homemade soups in the summer, but all the good summer melons make up for that. The older I get the harder it is to see in the rain, I avoid it if at all possible these days. Have a great day Myra :)

  7. I like the seventies the best. It's not too cold and not too hot for breathing. My little dog Pogo loves to bark at the thunder during a storm. Enjoy your day, hugs, Edna B.

    1. I know what you mean, I find it difficult to breath when it's super hot and humid out. I'm in Florida so summer mean staying inside in the air conditioning whenever possible. That's so adorable that Pogo barks at thunderstorms. My little old man Beefy will bark at the first clap of thunder but then he realizes it's not someone knocking and goes back to sleep lol. Hope you enjoy your day too. Thanks for stopping by :)

  9. Too much rain, in darker months, tends to "get me down." But a spring "shower" is lovely. Summer rain brings humidity, which I don't care for.

But rain is necessary... So... ~smile~

    1. I can go with a couple rainy days in a row, after that it definitely starts getting me down too. Here in Florida we have big thunderstorms roll through just about every afternoon. It cools things off a bit but then the humidity just doubles - ugh! I Hope you have a great day :)

  19. 70s with no humidity would be lovely! I never liked driving in pouring heavy rain storms or thunderstorms either. Very scary.
Since I am the question writer for Tuesday 4 I can say we have had a very stormy summer this year and hurricane Isaias just blew our way as well!

    1. All the same here Ann including the stormy summer and hurricane Isaias, I'm in Florida so those stormy afternoons are normal for the summer every year and Florida sure got lucky with the hurricane just skirting along up the coast. Hope you didn't have any damage from the storm. Have a great evening and thanks again for hosting. I always look forward to the questions each week :)

  20. We live on such an interesting planet. God gave us all these different weather types so we would have something to Blog about, the weather.
I used to live in Cape Town where the rains come in winter. They don't have tremendous electrical storms like the ones we have in summer up here in Johannesburg. I loved winter and the rainy season. People here, when I was heading home in September, couldn't believe I was looking forward to the rainy and cold Cape winter. This is when all the little creatures begin to hatch or are born, the flowers come out in abundance and everything turns green and washed. I lived on a nature reserve farm, just to put you in the picture.
The rain is for me the most glorious weather to be dealing with.
Loved your post very much, thanks.
Blessings from Geoff in Johannesburg South Africa.
