Korean Beef Rice Bowls

I made such a yummy dinner last night that I had to come share the recipe with you!

Korean Beef Rice Bowls

Ingredients

2 pounds ground beef

4 garlic cloves, minced

¼ cup firmly packed brown sugar

¼ cup soy sauce

2 teaspoons sesame oil

1 teaspoon sriracha sauce

1 teaspoon honey

¼ teaspoon pepper

2 cups hot cooked rice

sliced green onions, red pepper flakes, and sesame seeds for garnish

Directions

Brown ground beef until fully cooked, add garlic and pepper about halfway through browning. Whisk the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, sriracha sauce and honey in a small bowl. Pour over beef, mix and simmer for 3-5 minutes. Serve over rice. Garnish with green onion, red pepper flakes and sesame seed.

Notes: This dish was inspired by a recipe at Taste of Home. This also works great for lettuce wraps!

  3. That looks delish although I'd eliminate the red pepper flakes as we don't like spicy.

    1. They were actually mixed into the meat in the original recipe. The guys love spicy, super spicy, but not me. That's why I added it as garnish in my recipe, everyone can use as little or as much as the'd like,or not at all :)

    1. Sure, you could eliminate the garlic and still have great flavors! A little cold here right now, but after seeing the weather up north I'm sure not complaining!
