Seafood Shack

Now that I'm a couple of catch up posts in, it's time to start sharing some of my adventures. As always, my favorite adventures revolve around yummy food and cocktails!

This is the famous Tark's of Dania Beach, it's the best little seafood shack ever! Tark's has been in business since 1966 and I don't think they've changed a thing since. I fondly remember going there since I was a kid, with great food and good times there for many years until I moved away from the area in the early 90s. I was so happy to see they were still standing when I went back.

This place is what a true seafood shack should look like - tiny little place, always packed, a few seats outside, only a counter surrounding the open kitchen inside. There is just something about the place too, it's kind of like Cheers except with seafood of course. Grab a seat and let the entertainment begin!

It has now become a ritual to make this our first stop when we are in the area and also our last stop on the way out. I will admit we often visit in between as well, It's just the best!

If you love seafood as much as I do, be prepared to drool...

See why it's our favorite place? Absolutely delicious, and each of these meals runs on average around $10- $12. I have to wonder if they've changed the prices since the 60s either!

If you are ever in the Fort Lauderdale area don't miss your chance to stop by Tark's for some great seafood and ice cold beer!

  2. There are lots of seafood places like that here on Cape Cod too. They are the best. Sadly, I'm allergic to it.

  4. I do love seafood and to get a good meal for around 10 dollars is almost unbelievable. I'd be stopping there too.
