On the Road Again

We will be on the road heading to Fort Lauderdale tomorrow morning. I took the photo below this afternoon when I spotted this cute little camper in the grocery store parking lot. It is so cute I had to share for my 'On the Road' post.

We spend close to half of our time in Fort Lauderdale these days. Our business covers both the east and west coast of Florida. Not only that, when we sold the McMansion we made the coolest investment. We bought a condotel - if you're unfamiliar with the term, it's a condo in a hotel. It's on the intracoastal in Fort Lauderdale, and only a quick walk over the bridge to the beach. It's a vacation place for us, a place to stay when we are there on business, and the really great part is the hotel rents it out for us when we aren't using it, so it brings in income as well. We just love it!

Some of you may remember that we are huge Miami Dolphin fans. After finally selling the McMansion, buying the condotel, and launching our new business in May, we bought Miami Dolphin season tickets as a gift to ourselves. That's what we are heading over for this weekend, and adding a few days before and after to relax and enjoy.

Unfortunately the Fins have had a pretty horrible season this year, but in the second half last weekend they finally showed up. Hopefully that was turning point for them.

My husband and I were both born and raised in the Fort Lauderdale area. We got out of the crazy party town and moved to our sleepy little beach town on the west coast of Florida to raise our children. It was definitely a good move, our children never gave us any trouble, and I've loved living on the west side all these years. I will say though, it's great to get back over to crazy Fort Lauderdale to visit old friends and all our old favorite places.

One of the best things in Fort Lauderdale is the food! I love authentic ethnic food and good seafood, I get it all in Fort Lauderdale and it's fantastic, nothing like what's available on the west coast of Florida.

Mmmm, nothing like fresh authentic Mexican food!

I'm counting down the hours until we can get there to eat lol! I'll be in touch next week when we return. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend. Cheers!

  2. Those tacos look delicious! Love the concept of the condohotel. Hadn't heard of that before, better than a time share! You seem very relaxed and happy, things definitely going better for you than when you were stuck in the school system with that long commute! Go Dolphins!! Now that we moved to Arizona, we're rooting for the Cardinals, and then of course San Diego Chargers became Los Angeles Chargers this year :) Enjoy your time and I too love that trailer!

    1. No problem, I can definitely relate. I'm as blind as a bat these days. Getting old stinks, but better than the alternative lol!

    1. Ig, That hurricane was really a monster! On the west side we lost our fence and had some roof damage, not too bad considering. Our condo on the east side was fine, but we were one of the few lucky ones, at least 75% of the hotel had severe damage. Thanks for asking how we did :)

    1. I don't know how you get through those winters! We had our first cool day of the year today, 70s weather. I get cranky if the temp drops below 65 lol. I'll bring you plenty of Florida sunshine this winter! So glad to be back to blogging. Thanks for stopping by :)
