Our weather here in sunny Florida was the usual sweltering hot 90 plus temps through the third week of October. Finally in the last week we had some beautiful fall weather with one very windy day, and one very cold day as Tropical Storm Philippe zipped by, and now it's back to beautiful 70s weather which is the forecast all the way through mid November. Perfection!
We really enjoy our trips to Fort Lauderdale and our little home sweet second home there. We made three trips over this month. The thing I like most about our condo is the fact there there isn't any stuff, and there can't be since it is rented by the Hilton when we aren't using it. I'm so sick of dealing with stuff that the minimalist within has been in full swing getting rid of things. Not that I haven't been for years and years, but the more time that goes by, the less and less I want. I only want to collect memories and photographs now.
I love our beaches on the SW side, but the Fort Lauderdale beaches are absolutely beautiful too. This is one of my favorite beaches in Fort Lauderdale. I have many childhood memories of picnics, BBQ's and family fun in the sun in this same spot. It hasn't changed at all over the years.
Of course I've already mentioned another favorite in Fort Lauderdale is the fantastic food!
The seafood is excellent, and one of our other very favorites is delicious Mediterranean food. It is so good, nice and healthy too, which helps balance out those fried food feasts!
Another highlight this month, I have an adorable new grand-kitty! My youngest son found her alone and abandoned up under their front porch. The vet said she was only 3-4 weeks old. They had to feed her with an eye dropper for the first few weeks. I can't recall what her real name is because my son always calls her Potato. He said she was the exact size of a little tiny potato when they found her. She was so tiny she would fall asleep in the palm of his hand. She's getting a little bigger now, weighing in at one whole pound. Their Big German Shepard, Bo, thinks she is the mom, and the tiny Tater thinks so too. It's the sweetest thing ever!
Of course another highlight this month is my return to the blogging world! I have enjoyed catching up with old friends and sharing what I've been up to. I have noticed that I'm not the only one that disappeared, sadly very few of my old blogging buddies are still around. Out of the few that are still here, it looks as if the majority only pop in with a rare post here and there. It's sure not like it once was. Sad to say but looks like blogging for the most part is a thing of the past. Either way, I'm going to try to stick with it!
I'll close with this awesome beach scene jack-o-lantern my talented son made. Very cool isn't it?!
Any plans for Halloween? It will be a quiet one here. We haven't had any trick-or-treating in my neighborhood in many years, I think that is pretty much a thing of the past too. Sometimes I sure do miss the good old days. Have a safe and happy Halloween. I'll see you in November!
