Today was a good day. It started with another round of treasure hunting with my friend from work this morning. Th Goodwill stores had 50% off today so we made the rounds bright and early to see what kind of bargains we could get.
I guess I was feeling Patriotic today so most things I picked up were for the holiday. The backdrop which I thought was a table cloth turned out to be a shower curtain. Fine with me. I can use it for decoration, as a shower curtain, or even a table cloth as I originally intended. It was new not used, and who would know?
I picked up the basket and the dish towels at the dollar store, the eagle came from a box of my mother's stuff that I went through at home this afternoon. It's a nice addition to my 4th of July decorations. The rest were the treasures I found at Goodwill today including the backdrop - total spent at Goodwill - $2. No bad!
It was so hot here today! As soon as I got home it was straight to the pool and then ready to get the grill fired up early. I had planned to do a nice tablescape and dinner today, but with teens in the house my tablescape ended up being a table escape. After our afternoon in the pool they suddenly developed other plans for the evening.
We threw a bunch of hot dogs on the grill, they had friends over for a quick bite, another dip in the pool, and then they were off and running for the rest of the evening. So much for tablescapes and festive dinners.
I'm grabbing a cold one now and and heading out to watch to the fireworks, I just heard the first booms and bangs! I have to work tomorrow so I will catch you on the weekend. Happy 4th once again - cheers!

DeleteHappy July 4th night Martha. I'm celebrating by listening to the police scanner and reading blogs. Just heard they are fighting two small fires. Hope they get them out before they grow.

Thanks Betty. I still can't believe me of all people has fallen in love with the thrill of the hunt! I have really learned a lot though and it's all going to really come in handy when it's time to start doing my selling. Hope Koda didn't get too frightened by fireworks last night.

DeleteAt least you actually made the effort though!
ReplyDeleteGlad I know better than to make any kind of big effort or set in stone plans, it just doesn't work well with teens. Hope you had a fun 4th :)
