Yorkie - Yes, it's another photo of my little Beefy. He's a Silky Yorkshire Terrier, better know as a Yorkie. What else would you expect for the letter Y?
I just love this little guy, he is the best little dog ever - even with his faults like peeing on my curtains when we leave him at home alone. Isn't it amazing how much we will put up with from our pets? Pets are like family to me (well, except for the fact that my family wouldn't pee on the curtains) but that's ok, that's why washing machines were invented :)
What naughty things have your pets done that you just accept because they are family?
Thanks for all your comments this week, I will be catching up on visiting over the weekend. See you back here on Monday for the final post for the A-Z challenge!

Weeeel would you count John's calf pooping on my purse? That purse is still in the garage airing out.
ReplyDeleteToo funny Paula. How did the calf happen to poop on your purse?!
DeleteDear Martha, I'm a dog lover through and through. I love the photo of Beefy, those eyes make my heart melt. We have two dogs, and recently lost our loveable dog Zane. One naughty moment of his that I'll never forget, is the day we bought a new futon for the spare bedroom. Well, while we were out (for a short time), he had the time of his life. The cushions were no more, he had torn them apart and strewed all around the house were thousand of bits of foam. It was a naughty thing to do, but what a precious memory we now how. Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi KC, I'm always afraid that is going to be Beefy's next idea. He has already done that to his bed and all the kitties beds - will the couch cushions be next?!
DeleteCan you believe one more post?? WE DID IT MARTHA!! (both of mine are written, just waiting to post at the right time :)
ReplyDeleteBeefy is so cute!! Who can resist that face!
Honestly, I know this sounds impossible to believe, but Koda has not been a destructive type of dog, maybe because we crate him when we are gone (but never more than a five hours tops and its a big size crate). I think the worse thing is him throwing up on carpets, but again, that's why there are carpet cleaners :)
have a great weekend!
betty
I know Betty, can't believe we made it through the challenge. It was a little rough going for me at some points but overall it was fun.
DeleteCrating definitely helps with dogs since most of them pull their naughty stunts when they are left alone. Using a crate wasn't an option with Beefy since he was from a shelter, he had been kept in a crate there and he was terrified of the crate when I brought him home. I just couldn't bring myself to force him back into one.
A cute yorkie, I too am behimd with comments as I had an evening out last evening.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Hope you had a nice time Yvonne :)
DeleteYour yorkie is a adorable. I've had many pets and all of them were spoiled beyond measure. They got away with a lot but I wouldn't have ever not wanted any of them. The worst was probably finding the shoes I left on the floor totally demolished. My favorite shoes of course. But I soon learned not to leave anything on the floor as my beagles thought they were chew toys.
ReplyDeleteWhy do they always pick our favorite shoes to destroy? Can't they pick the uncomfortable ones that we should have thrown away anyway?
DeleteMy naughty kitties love using the couch in our bedroom as a scratch post!
ReplyDelete:-) Mandy
Kitties are a whole 'nother story aren't they? My kitties have damaged almost all of my furniture including my new couch!
DeleteHe is so cute! Thanks for coming by my blog and following. It's great to meet you! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen, great to meet you too :)
DeleteYour Yorkie is a sweetie. I have two dobies. They think they are lap dogs, and want to go everywhere with me. I have to put my foot down at the shower...
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, I love Dobies. I had one when I was younger. He was a total clown and definitely thought he was a lap dog - now instead I have a Yorkie who thinks he's a doberman!
DeleteI have a Yorkie as well! Lizzie is my little buddy. She's had a rough go in life (liver shunt, ring worm, and infections) but she's made it to 12. She is very much a member of our family.
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of your little angel.
Poor little thing! I'd love to see a photo of your baby too. Leave me a link if you have any posted :)
DeleteI don't have a cutie like yours as my lovely Laydi left us last year (I posted about her on my blog), but I always adore cute photos and stories of dogs and their antics! Thanks for sharing! Found you on a to z! I'm lovin' this challenge!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, Sorry to hear about your Laydi. It's so hard when we lose a pet :(
DeleteOh SQUEEEEE what a little CUTIE PIE!!!! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and following me; I'm following you too! My German shepherd will do whatever he can to get to the snacks (human and pup) on the counter, whenever I'm out of the house. No matter how well I push things back or stack them, he works at it till he gets something. He's eaten a loaf of bread, half a pack of cookies, and I came home yesterday to find the Entenman's donut holes broken into. LOL goofy pets!
ReplyDeleteHey JoJo - My son is JoJo too by the way! I had a lab that helped himself to a whole loaf of bread every time we left the house. I tried to outsmart him and put it in the pantry, he just learned to open the pantry to get it. Pets really are smart and goofy!
DeleteOh, and only once Laydi peed on our bed! She wasn't happy with us for leaving her! Yep, just like kids they can get away with a lot!
ReplyDeleteI guess they think they are teaching us a lesson for not taking them with us!
DeleteCute little dog Martha! Our Spaniel died a few years back and we're not getting any more dogs. We're just cat people now. There not all that bad, they just think they belong in the bed, very annoying! That and the rodent presents they bring in alive every once and a while, that's pretty gross!
ReplyDeleteWe were dogless for a long time too. When we moved to the new house it had a huge fenced yard and when we renovated we put tile throughout the house, no carpet at all - all just perfect for a dog. He has brought us so much joy. I'm so glad we brought him home from the shelter that day :)
DeletePS - Where else would they sleep besides in the bed with us? :)
DeleteHe's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOur rabbit sometimes gets overexcited and poos on the carpet. Thankfully rabbit poo tends to be dry and pellet-like ;)
Thanks Grover. I use to have a bunny too years ago, definitely not difficult to clean up after. My bunny was litter box trained just like a kitty!
Deleteoh so sweet...and a great Y word...
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracy, nothing better than Yorkie for Y :)
DeleteMy dear Martha,
ReplyDeleteYes, what a beautiful face!! His eyes are full of love. Great photo and post!!
Thanks for following my blog. I always try to return the same kindness and have become your newest follower too. Can you see me smiling and waving back at you? (lol)
DeleteThoughts Of Beauty In The Stillness Of Dawn...
Thanks Andy. He is a lovey little guy. Glad to have you as a new reader ::waving back:: :)
DeleteMy setter loved new leather. She ate hiking boots down to the ankle and the straps off my watch, but did not swallow the face. I miss having dogs very, very much. Thanks for stopping by my blog. It has been fun.
ReplyDeleteIt's my kitties that love leather, but they just shred it instead of eating it. I guess having a house full of loving pets is better than having nice things any day :)
DeleteHopefully the rest of your family doesn't pee on the curtains! And pets should be family.
ReplyDeleteWell there were some shower curtain incidents when the boys were little but that's a whole 'nother post ;)
DeleteI had a Yorkie who ate the Tobasco sauce off the stair carpetrunners...sauce that I put there to keep him away from peeing on it. LOL! I love Yorkies and have had several.
ReplyDeleteI now have a Boxer mix, Sadie, who is amazingly good in the house...unless we leave our bed accessible when we go out. She'll pee on it and then sleep next to that. Not a fun thing to come home to late at night.
PS> Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog. Now following yours! Off to read your earlier A-Z posts.
Hmmm, tabasco keeps them from peeing on things? I never knew that. Not that it matters, can't exactly sprinkle tabasco on my curtains now can I? I would love to see your little Sadie. Leave me a link!
DeleteWe have no pets but my husband and kids drive me crazy very well all on their own.
ReplyDeleteZ is almost here! What will we all write about next month?
Thanks for visiting Elizabeth. I know what you mean about the husband and kids, lol. I'm sure we will find something to babble about on our blogs :)
DeleteYour little furkid is adorable. I have a Chihuahua. Mine on occasion gets this look when I get home home of "Oh thank God you are home, someone poo'd in the hallway" kind of look :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Beefy always tries to convince me it wasn't him either. When I come home I ask him if he was a good boy and he always says yes - until get near the curtain and then he runs to get in his bed and pretend he's sleeping. It's a dead giveaway every time!
DeleteAh, so cute! My chihuahua likes to walk, and dance, on my lap when I'm trying to type on my laptop. It can be frustrating but she's so cute that I just can't get mad at her :)
ReplyDeleteThat's almost as bad as my cat plopping down on my keyboard when I'm trying to type. Luckily Beefy doesn't jump in my lap unless I'm on the couch.
DeleteI don't own any pets right now, but the last pet I owned was a turtle, and I cried when it died. Yes, pets are family, and if we're not willing to treat them as family, we should't own pets. I know a girl who is complaining because her pet had to go to the vet and now she's stuck with a big vet bill. OH WELL! You own a pet, then you need to be prepared for vet bills. Otherwise, don't own a pet. They're not just cute little things that you can show to your friends. You need to be responsible for them.
ReplyDeleteSo true Jolie. I have had turtles too. Most people don't know how much personality they have. They are great aren't they?
DeleteWhat a sweet dog you have there, Martha! I put up with white fur stuck to my black clothes, thanks to our two Ragdoll cats! Thanks for stopping by my blog...
ReplyDeleteCan I ever relate! I have one white inside kitty that sheds so much worse than all the others. Of course the majority of my wardrobe is black. It's a constant battle - my weapons of choice are lint rollers. I keep them in the bathroom, the laundry room, my closet, my purse, in my car and at work. So far the white fur is still winning!
DeletePeeing on the curtains sounds nasty indeed but we put up with it. I nailed my curtains to the wall because the cat liked to climb them and tear them down, he got mad at me when I did because now he can't yank them off..haha
ReplyDeleteROFL! Luckily none of my cats have discovered curtain climbing thankfully, but I can just picture you nailing your curtains to the wall - too funny Pat!
DeleteWhat a cute Yorkie. It is funny what we put up with. My fish is pretty good. If he does anything, I don't know about it. I did have a dog once that would steal the neighbor's bags of catfood and bury them. She never ate the food and it took us a while to figure it out. Thanks for the follow at Creating Wordlenik.
ReplyDeleteOh sure, I can only imagine what that fish might be up to when you aren't looking!! ;)
DeleteI am so late in responding to your comment to me - I am so late, but I do finally get there.
ReplyDeleteYour Yorkie is ADORABLE and great for the letter Y!
We have a rescue pup - and sometimes he pees when we go out.
Love your blog and thanks for praying for Katelyn!
sandie
No problem Sandie. I know how it is trying to keep up during the challenge. I normally only have time to blog on the weekends so I've been scrambling to keep up. Thanks for following :)
DeleteAwww, Beefy is a little sweetie pie! The hubby and I have two big fur babies. The one is tall enough to get things out of the kitchen sink. Sometimes we scold her, but usually we just laugh...in amazement...of how big she is, and that she loves sneaking lettuce from the colander while it drains! How can I yell at a 100lb sweetheart! ~ Angela, Whole Foods Living, http://www.wholefoodsliving.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteWow, she must be really big! What kind of dogs do you have?
DeleteI'm not going to say I accept this, but I don't kick the cat out for doing it, but we can't keep him off the kitchen table. I mean, when he goes up there, we chase him down, but it doesn't change his behavior. If he wants our attention, or gets excited to look outside, he goes on the table. Yuck.
ReplyDeletePlay off the Page
Yeah, I can see why you aren't accepting of that one. I think 'd rather be washing my curtains all the time!
DeleteHey Mary... have you tried a squirt gun? Its the ONLY thing that works for me!
DeleteHello Martha, Thank you for visiting my blog. The old Z Day is coming up but there are always fun blogfests going on.
ReplyDeleteYorkies are so adorable with their little black button eyes and nose. How could anyone scold someone that cute.
Nice meeting you and I am now your follower, too.
Thanks Manzanita. I doubt I'll have any problem finding things to babble about on my blog after the challenge, but as much fun as it was it will be nice not to be under so much pressure to post and try to keep up with everyone for awhile. Thanks for following. I'm looking forward to getting to know you :)
DeleteOK, I have a question> I have managed to get my dogs to stop peeing on the curtains. Any idea how I can get my family to stop. I tried rubbing their nose in it but it didn't work.
ReplyDeleteWell Shay I'm one of those look at the bright side kind of women. As long as they aren't pooping in the living room I say let it go ;)
DeleteCheers!
Awww. He's cute. Last night I didn't close off the kitchen when I went to sleep. This morning, someone ate the chicken carcuss. Chicken bones are quite dangerous for dogs, but the dog survived it; however, I'm not sure if I will with the farting she's doing.
ReplyDeleteBack at ya with the follow.
Catch My Words
http://joycelansky.blogspot.com
That definitely could have been dangerous, glad she's ok and hope you can survive it too!! Thanks for following :)
DeleteBy the way, Beefy is SO cute! I used to have 10 dogs. I am down to three and 1 cat. They are my kids:)
ReplyDeleteWow, 10 dogs! That's a full time job in itself! I only have the 1 but I do have 5 cats. Oh I also have 2 grand-cats :)
DeleteJust ADORABLE! Thanks for commenting on by my blog and following. I'm following you now.
ReplyDeleteThanks Laurie, looking forward to getting to know you :)
DeleteHi Martha! Thanks for your recent visit to my blog. I'm a new follower. Your Yorkie is adorable. : )
ReplyDeleteThanks for the following Suzanne. Now that the challenge has almost come to an end I'm looking forward to really getting to know the friends I've made along the way :)
DeleteHe is SO cute! :) My pup will actually pee in the bathroom floor if we're gone for too long so.. At least she has the right room? :)
ReplyDeleteAn adorable post.
That is so cute! How could anyone ever get mad if they are at least smart enough to go in the right room!
DeleteWe have three dogs, and they can do anything and we'll still love them. I get sucked in by sad puppy eyes every time!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, hard to resist no matter what - and they know it!
DeleteAww, so adorable! I'm just dropping by from the A to Z Challenge before it ends. I've met so many great people!
ReplyDeleteMichelle :)
www.michelle-pickett.com/blog
Me too Michelle - It's been a lot of fun hasn't it?
DeleteAbsolutely adorable!! LMAO we left Gun & Whisk alone one time for a little too long and they evidently amused themselves with a tug of war on one of my down feather pillows. When we walked in there were feathers EVERYWHERE and they were smack dab in the middle of the war. You couldn't help but laugh!
ReplyDeleteI can just picture that! Too bad you didn't get some photos!!
DeletePhoto of the aftermath from tamy - http://www.3sidesofcrazy.com/2008/04/wordless-w.html
DeleteToo funny!!
Cute little dog!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tammy :)
DeleteI miss my Yorkie. She passed with a tumor. Best little dog I ever had!
ReplyDeleteI put up with my cat, Tiger, who awakens me every morning at 2:30 a.m.
I'm so sorry to hear about your little Yorkie Jeremy :(
DeleteWhat is it with cats thinking we should get up in the middle of the night? My crazy white kitty wakes me up between 2-3am every morning too. I'm pretty sure the way you feel about Tiger is the way all cats feel about all their pet humans ;)
Your little Yorkie has brought so many comments- that in itself shows how much we all adore our animals! I have a Springer Spaniel who sneaks up on the back of the sofa and stands on our heads to get attention :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Lily, That is so funny and I can only imagine how cute. You have to get a photo of that to post! Beefy sometimes walks around the top of the couch, but I think it's because he sees the kitties do it. He has never tried to stand on our heads though, lol.
DeleteHoly Moly! I guess we all have stories to share about how we go "above and beyond" for our furry friends! And I must say, with a face like that, who could deny the little cutie anything?
ReplyDeleteMy "challenge" pet would have to be the Smoky Bear. He's the world's sweetest cat, but he's just 100 pounds of energy in a 13 pound body. In his view, all shelves, cabinets, furniture, screens, television sets, etc were created for the express purpose of giving him something to climb on - and all objects are toys for him to play with. He even bats pictures off the wall!
I used to have house plants, and trinkets and 7 (that 7 was an editorial comment from Smoky himself... not sure what it meant, but he definitely has opinions on this matter as he just sauntered across the keyboard and is now chewing on my wall calendar.) Anyhow, I had to get rid of pretty much anything that was breakable or that might injure a cat. At first I was upset, but then I realized that he was just helping me to further my minimalist goals! And you know what, I don't miss all of those stupid trinkets and house plants one bit!
That sounds exactly like my crazy white cat Chewy! She is the main reason we can't have nice things, lol. Plants and cut flowers are a thing of the past along with any breakables or other kitty dangers. She is so destructive! I guess our kitties know what's best and will force us into minimalism even beyond what we thought minimalism was!!
DeleteI had a wiemaraner that stole an entire cooked flank steak....
ReplyDeleteDoesn't surprise me a bit Chris!!
DeleteI use to back into bed because the dog was protecting my husband from me. Once I'd get settled he'd hang his chin over my neck and stare at me before curling up against my back.
ReplyDeleteLOL.
DeleteDefinitely too funny!! :)
DeleteWhat a wee cuttie, thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cassam. Looking forward to getting to know you :)
Deleteoh, my goodness... our cats are currently peeing all over the house.. i can't figure out if they are mad.. or what.... i recently had a new garage door installed, and now park my car in the garage (woo!)... but it scares the heck out of the cats.. the loud electric door and the car's engine... :( they've peed on everyone's beds, and on the blanket adorning the couch.... so sad, more for them than for us...
ReplyDeleteNot good at all! What are you going to do?
DeleteHi Martha! Thanks for coming by my blog, it's great to meet you. Your Yorkie is a doll! I love animals and always love to come across other bloggers with pets.
ReplyDeleteThanks Julie. I love meeting other bloggers that post about their pets too. So nice to "meet" you :)
DeleteYour Beefy is adorable. It's impossible to get upset with a cute little face like that. We've had a ton of spoiled pets over the years, but currently, we have two cats. We adopted them from a shelter about two and a half years ago, and I haven't slept through the night since. They like to drape themselves all over me at night, and of course, to walk up to my face half a dozen times a night to nuzzle. And I don't mind a bit.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog and for signing on as a follower. It's my pleasure to return the favor. One more letter to go!!!!!!!
Thanks for following Susan. I'm looking forward to getting to know you. My cats do the exact same thing. I do mind but I love them so much that I accept it - like Beefy peeing on my curtains!
DeleteHere's to the letter Z tomorrow!!
Awe what a cutie. My mom has a Yorkie. I have a dachsund and he's rotten, but we love him. I live with my mom and her Yorkie has been picking up bad habits from my Dachshund (he's actually my kids' dog, but I love him just the same). The Dachshund climbs on the table and gets food (if my kids walk away from it for whatever reason), it'll be a matter of seconds with them away and BAM the food is gone. That's one bad habit the Yorkie has been picking up. We mind, but we love them just the same. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for following, I'm following back. Looking forward to reading more of your posts (even after the challenge :) Nice to meet you :)
Hi Kela, that's one naughty little dachshund and now a naught little yorkie too. My yorkie doesn't do that but the cats do! All three inside cats are little beggars. They don't even wait until we leave the table, they will jump right up there while we're trying to eat! It's go to the point where we have to put them out on the patio at dinner time. Naughty or not we gotta love em :)
