Finding my Groove

I wanted to pop in and say thank you to all who have followed me over and stopped by to comment since I did my blog combining and simplifying this past weekend. It's been like a reunion seeing old and new friends alike all in one place. I love it, it makes me happy :)

Now I'm kind of stuck - I don't know where to start! Do I post photos, play along on blog hops, post a recipe, just start mindlessly babbling? You'll have to excuse me while I find my groove again. I'm sure it's probably packed up in one of the many boxes I haven't gone through yet, but that's a whole 'nother story - the boxes are another story, not finding my groove, that's this story.

Speaking of my groove, I think I know how to get it in high gear. Have you ever participated in the A-Z Blogging Challenge? I did it over at my old blog Menagerie last year using photos as my theme. I'm thinking about participating again this year, but not necessarily with photos. The A-Z challenge doesn't have any theme other than the alphabet itself. The challenge starts April 1st running through the month of April. We post everyday except Sundays (other than the Sunday it begins). I might be biting off more than I can chew, but even as I type I know I'm going to go for it. Why is it that I can never resist a challenge?

Who else can't resist? I'd love to have you join me!

  1. I'm here, sorry I'm late - it's just that cross country run did me in!! The blogging challenge sounds like fun and good place to start in your groove searching.

  2. I wish I could say I have that much discipline or imagination to think of something interesting and compelling to write every day for a month, it sounds frightening Martha. If you get good feed back from your followers I'd do my best to dust the cobwebs off my brain and give it a go!

    1. Jen, it may not be exactly easy, but that's why they call it a challenge. It really is fun though. There are over 1300 people who have joined, lots of new friends to make out there. I hope you will join us!

  3. Oh my gosh, Martha, I got to think about the A-Z challenge. The blogging every day challenge we did a few Novembers ago about did me in, LOL. I'm going to think about doing it though. Got to come up with a theme/idea for it to help at least figure out what to post for those days. I know a lady I follow with her blog did it last year and she did interesting words with their definitions. Let me think.

Anyway, I know, it is hard to figure out what to post to get your groove back. I'm having the same trouble too. I don't want to get caught in a rut of just talking about what is going on with things here, and I don't want to talk much about Koda (although I love him, I'm ready to move on to different blogging) so I'm kind of stuck too with what direction to go.

so maybe the challenge will be a good thing to start to do.....

Whether I participate or not, I will check yours out for the month of April!

  4. Oh how I would love to partake but as seems to be the norm for me the last long while, I already have too much on my plate plus visitors from Friday for the next 3 weeks and and and - you know how it goes.
I do however look forward to following along with what you do.

    1. Hi Mandy, I always seem to take these things on just when I have too much on my plate, but then again I always seem to have too much on my plate, what's one more thing? At least it's a fun thing :)

  5. Wow, that challenge looks like it would be challenging. I'm going to brainstorm and see if I can come up with ideas at least for the first half as I am traveling a lot in April and would have to write ahead of time. Look forward to whatever you post.

  6. Hey Martha,
I like your place! You totally had when I saw your toes and the beach. I'm a water baby who grew up on the Chesapeake Bay. Don't get me wrong, I love CO, but I gotta have my beach on a fairly regular basis. Thanks so much for advertising for the challenge. That earns you a shout-out on the A-Z Blog on Sunday. Should send some new visitors your way!

    1. Hey Tina! I know what you mean, I could never be away from the beach for too long. No problem with the A-Z banner - I want everyone to know about it and join in the fun. A shout out on the A-Z blog would be great! I love making new blogging buddies. Thanks!

  9. I'm signed up for the A-Z but now am rethinking all my posts and doubting myself. Not a good sign. Wait that's normal for me under pressure. Still not a good sign. :)

    Nice to meet you!!!

    1. Teresa, I was doubting myself before I even signed up. I know I'm too busy, but went for it anyway. I'm sure we'll both do just fine. Nice to meet you too!

  10. Hi, I have 2 blogs. I used to have three, but barely posted on that so I deleted it. I'm doing the challenge for both active blogs. Am I crazy? Quite possibly. But, that's what makes it fun. Thanks for stopping by my blogs. I am a new follower.

  14. Hi Martha .. thanks for popping over and saying hi - you've done well to combine everything here. Sounds like an interesting blog .. a little of this and a little of that - and the ABCs always help us along our way ..

See you next week - somewhere, somehow .. at a letter point - cheers Hilary

    1. Hi Hilary, the A-Z challenge will definitely be a fun way to mix things up. I know what you mean about somewhere, somehow - it's so hard to visit all the new friends we make during the challenge. See you along the way!

    1. I will agree it's a lot Mary, but I love a good challenge. I pictured you doing it and choosing big complicated words and their definitions from your extensive vocabulary as your A-Z topic. I know you send people running over to dictionary.com all the time, LOL!

  17. I might have to drop out if I don't snap out of my current writing funk/complete lack of energy. Doing all pictures would be very challenging.

  18. I'm still working on my posts. While I know I don't have to have them all done before I begin, I think it would be great to just visit throughout the month. Doing it this way, it seems the posts are getting shorter too.

    1. Stacy, even if I wouldn't have signed up almost last minute I know I would have procrastinated. I think I must work better under pressure. It would be kinda nice to have the month to visit participants instead of scrambling to prepare the posts, but at this point if I can get 2 or 3 posts scheduled ahead I'll be happy.
